I can hear the collective groan as I type this, but I’m going to forge ahead anyway. I believe that organization is the root of horse business success, so bear with me.
Riding lesson plans are not only a good idea for your horse business, but they are essential. I know very few riding instructors who use them, but those who do are far more successful.
Imagine you’re a high school student, and your English teacher decides he’s going to do away with lesson plans. He’d rather catch up on the last season of “Burn Notice” than spend time writing his syllabus, so he drops the idea entirely.
Can you imagine how ineffective that English teacher’s class would be? How would he know where he left off in the in-class reading of Romeo & Juliet? How would he know what vocabulary worksheets to distribute?
There is a reason why teachers the world over use these tools, and there is no reason why riding instructors should try to fly without a net, so to speak. Riding lesson plans turn a regular equine academy into an effective, efficient institute of education.
If you are interested in creating riding lesson plans for your horse business, you can use the template provided below. I’ve also posted a sample of what the template might look like once you’ve filled it out. Of course, you can create your own template or modify this one of suit your particular needs.
